ACDA’s Executive Director Leads Successful Career Services Networking Event in Tirana
The Albania Career Development Association (ACDA) is thrilled to announce the success of a recent Networking Event on Career Services at Albanian Universities, led by our Executive Director, Xhafer Rakipllari. Held in Tirana on September 19-20, 2023, this event, organized by the Swiss project RisiAlbania, provided a valuable platform to share insights about career services across the country.
Bringing together career counselors from the University of Tirana, Polytechnic University of Tirana, Agricultural University of Tirana, and Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës, the primary objectives included sharing ideas, addressing challenges, exploring best practices, and collectively developing annual plans to enhance career services across institutions.
Participants showcased insights from each university, emphasizing effective strategies such as job readiness training, individual counseling, thematic workshops, alumni tracking, and engaging career fairs.
A dedicated session focused on understanding the needs of the target audience and strategies employed by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in career services. Engaging discussions covered topics including Labor Market Information (LMI), student training on essential skills, and the development of yearly activity calendars.
Participants delved into performance metrics, goal setting, and real-world case studies. They engaged in group activities, brainstorming relevant metrics for measuring success, including key performance indicators (KPIs) related to student engagement, job search support, and overall student success.
The event also involved collaborative activities centered on defining annual goals and developing plans for career services, with a focus on effective monitoring of progress. Participants explored innovative strategies for organizing annual career fairs, workshops, and seminars, aiming to enhance student and employer engagement.
Concluding with discussions on future collaborations and knowledge exchange among career counselors, the event supports ongoing improvements in career services for students and alumni across Albanian universities.
